On my own volition, I am writing about the fact that the wining movies in Ifrane really deserved their status. Mainly “Memoire Chronisme” by Karim Tajouaout, who I think really deserves applauds for understanding the real meaning behind a short film, “Fear” by Nassim Elabed, “Lalla Aicha”, and “Thursday”. Or, “Maroc électronique” in the category of documentaries. Initially, I thought that this film by Nada Allouch was shot on demand and was funded by someone. Until I discovered that its director worked on it with only what she had available. Here, you can realize that even though many of our young people get the help and support needed, their work is unfortunately not given the right opportunity to be showcased during the national festival in Tangier. None of us will be able to understand the reason behind their absence during festivals that are funded using allocated public money. Sadly, some of these movies are lost for sure.
On my own volition, I refused to be part of the jury of the last edition of the National festival of Tangier. I accepted and will accept being part of any training institutions’ jury because meeting the youth of tomorrow is better, more important, and merciful than the formalities that I prefer avoiding even in global festivals. I participated and will participate in The Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival, that was brought to success thanks to professor Naziha Houki, just like how I will very soon in Marrakech School of Cinema.

Many before us are betting on the insurance of their stay, and the thought of opening doors to the new generation troubles their heads. Many festivals are only calling the same names and hand out awards sometimes to the same unsuccessful people. This is not helping at all. At the end, many films do not cross the borders and stay ashore. Plus, most our festivals transform, in the best cases, to sad events.
On my own volition, I am writing today about the “C.B.M” and the “F.B.M” projects. They were initially created to brace the youth and reinforce real adults who don’t feel the shame in helping and supporting the new generation. The Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival was successful in opening doors to the Moroccan youth coming from different cities and handing out awards which were given by the director Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, the president of the jury, during a modest and well-organized closing ceremony. There were some technical problems, which happened also in Tangier, Yet, the seminar around supporting the talented youth was way more important than any other useless festivals that I don’t wish to attend anymore...
